Greatmartyr Panteleimon (all-merciful) was martyred under
Emperor Maximian (c. 305 AD). We celebrate his feast day on July 27th.
Educated as a physician, St. Panteleimon dedicated his life to the suffering,
the sick, and the unfortunate and needy. He never turned anyone away and
treated all without a fee, healing them in the name of Jesus Christ. St.
Panteleimon endured much torture and remained unharmed. Maximian ordered
St. Panteleimon to be beheaded. Upon completion of his execution his body
was thrown into a fire and came out untouched. His relics can be found
at the Putna Monastery (Bucovina, Romania) and at Sts. Peter and Paul
Cathedral in Romania.
