Actual Size (Not Shown): Matted print 12" x 16"
This artwork was inspired by the Codex Aureus, a mid-eighth
century gospel made in Cantebury. The original manuscript was spectacular
enough to be held hostage and ransomed for gold by Norsemen in the ninth
century. Saint Patrick was born into a noble family from Roman Britain
in the late fourth or early fifth century; he was captured by pirates
and sold into slavery in Ireland. After his escape, he won converts all
over the island, and went on to become the second bishop of Ireland. Saint
Patrick's Feast day is March 17. The original artwork is created
by hand with paintbrushes and calligraphy pens. The item which you
will receive is an Art Print which is printed on antique white archival
paper using a high-quality digital process and then hand-gilded in twenty-three
karat gold leaf. The Art Print is signed and numbered by one of
the artists.
We also have a collection of Greeting
Cards .
